Riverside church is one big family made up of all sorts of people; all of whom bring something unique to the life of the church. Our Lifegroups are central to our growth and development and are an excellent opportunity to 'do life together' in our localities in and around Exeter. Our aim is for all Lifegroups to be multi-generational and able to meet the needs of a range of individuals regardless of their background, age or geographical location.
Our Lifegroups are typically made up of between 8 and 14 people who meet together each week to explore life and support each other in applying the truths of scripture to our everyday lives.
Currently, we have over 20 Lifegroups that meet on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings most weeks in the homes of either the Lifegroup Leader or other hosts. Many of these groups opt not to meet on the first week of the month as we hold our monthly corporate prayer time - 'Breakthrough Prayer Night' at the centre.
From January 2009 we will be following a new study program for our Lifegroups provided by CWR - some examples of the studies can be found here.

We believe that good quality relationships are one of the essential buidling blocks on which to build a strong church. In a church the size of Riverside, this is often best achieved in a smaller group setting and Lifegroups are a great way to find new friends, strengthen relationships, support each other, explore God's word and have fun together!!
Our Assistant Pastor is responsible for the development and growth of our Lifegroup structure and is assisted in this task by a number of Lifegroup Coordinators whose role is to directly support, encourage and develop an agreed number of the Lifegroup Leaders in their task.
If you would like to find out more about Lifegroups or would like to join one, please either email the pastoral care team on pastoral@riversideexeter.co.uk or complete an 'I SAID YES' card online or in church.
