Riverside Church is an active and fun-filled church reaching out to the people of Exeter and the surrounding area. Senior Pastors Aran and Rachel Richardson have a vision to reach every generation with the great news of Jesus and to serve and ‘transform our community with a message of faith, hope and love’.
Together with the Riverside Leadership Team, Aran and Rachel lead a great family of staff and volunteers who through their commitment and giftings fulfill this vision with passion.
In achieving the Riverside Vision the activities of the church are focused through the 4 key strategic areas of ‘Love People’, ‘Family Matters’, ‘Community Engagement’ and ‘Global Mission’.
Riverside Church is a Christian church and a member of the AOG (Assemblies of God). We believe that the Bible is the true and living word of God and that it is as relevant today as ever. As a result of this we are passionate about seeing people’s lives changed and transformed through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, knowing what He has already done for us.
Services
We have three fantastic services running throughout the day at 9, 11 and 7
The Wave meets at 9am and if you want to experience God in a more reflective, intimate way, then this is the service for you.
Broadband starts at 11am, and is our family service. It has great worship, interactive teaching in a fantastic, friendly environment. Our Children’s (0-11) and Youth (11-14)
Overdrive meets at 7pm. Join us as we turn the lights down and the music up for our last service of the day. Overdrive is a lively service for those with a bit more energy.
Location
Riverside Church owns a brilliant, multi-purpose building in Okehampton Street, from which we run most of our programmes. The building has rich historic legacy, having been a picture house, parachute factory, several nightclubs (including one called Heaven), and also played host to many of the biggest bands of the 1980s (Adam Ant and Sting being two of our Senior Pastor’s personal favourites).
The Centre is situated down on the banks of the Exe, near the Exe Bridges roundabout (and Pizza Hut).
